Student research evaluation

On April 25, the Faculty of English  held an evaluation session for undergraduate research projects for the academic year 2025–2026. The event acknowledged the students’ serious efforts and outstanding academic spirit in the fields of language and English teaching.

Attending the program were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huy Cuong, Head of the Faculty of English ; Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Hien, Deputy Head; along with lecturers from the faculty.

The Faculty of English successfully evaluated six student research projects

At the evaluation session, many topics were presented with solid and well-prepared investment, demonstrating the students’ ability to approach issues from multiple perspectives—ranging from theory to practical application. The student groups boldly explored timely matters in education and linguistics, while applying modern research methods to clarify these issues.

Among the highlights was the topic “Language Lecturers' and Students' Perceptions of Ecological Literacy for Sustainable Development in Higher Education” by the student group Trương Trúc Quỳnh, Đặng Thị Thanh Trúc, and Phan Ngọc Trân, contributing to a new perspective on the role of ecological literacy in higher education.

In terms of learning skills, the topic “A Multidimensional Analysis of Challenges and Strategies in English Oral Presentations: Linguistic, Psychological, Situational, and Cognitive Perspectives” (student group Lý Chiến Diệp, Đặng Anh Tôn, and Tống Huy Hoàng) provided a comprehensive analysis of difficulties in English oral presentations, thereby proposing effective improvement strategies.

Staying aligned with technology trends, the topic “The Impact of AI-Based Brainstorming on Idea Generation in Academic Writing among okviphoatdong store English-Majoring Students” by the student group Nguyễn Dương Quỳnh Anh, Trần Thị Thu Hồng, and Nguyễn Đức Thịnh clarified the impact of artificial intelligence in supporting students to develop ideas for academic writing.

In addition, research on education and career development was also given special attention. A representative example is “Service-Learning and Its Influence on EFL Preservice Teachers’ Perceptions towards Professional Identity” by student Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Phương, highlighting the role of community-based service learning in shaping the professional identity of future teachers.

With an orientation toward community value, the topic “Integrating Art-based Learning in English Language Instruction for Underprivileged Children: A Case Study at a Community Center in Ho Chi Minh City” (student group Hồ Tường Vy, Phạm Ngọc Thùy Nhi, and Trần Quốc Anh) offered a creative solution for teaching English to children facing difficult circumstances.

Meanwhile, the topic “An Investigation into The Role of English Podcasts in Enhancing First-Year University Students’ English Learning” (student group Trần Xuân Bảo, Chu Hoàng Bách, and Nguyễn Lê Minh Thiện) demonstrated interest in flexible learning methods that fit the information-receiving habits of today’s students.

Through evaluation activities, students not only demonstrated their research capacity but also developed critical thinking skills, academic presentation abilities, and the ability to connect knowledge with real-world practice. The topics all reflected the students’ sharp awareness of education trends, technology, and social needs, contributing to affirming the training quality of the Faculty of English Language.

The research movement among students is always promoted at okviphoatdong store’s House, creating a foundation for students to confidently integrate, grow professionally, and contribute positive value to the community in the future.
