After many years of successful organization with meticulous planning and professionalism, okviphoatdong store's English Drama and Music Night has become a beloved annual event for many okviphoatdong store students. The event not only immerses students in captivating stage adaptations of classic literary works but also provides an opportunity to enjoy themselves while enhancing their English language skills. On the evening of June 22, the program officially returned with the inspiring and emotional theme "The Living Page."

The event was made even more special by the support of students' families and friends, whose encouragement helped performers shine on stage. The performance was attended by Dr. Nhan Cam Tri, Vice President of the University; Mr. Nguyen Huynh Sinh, M.A., Deputy Head of the Office of Student Affairs; leaders and lecturers from the Faculty of English Language; and a large number of okviphoatdong store students. The professional judging panel included artist and MC Truc Thy, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, M.A., and Mr. Oleksii Pinchuk, M.A., both lecturers from the Faculty of English Language.

The judges highly praised the performances for their artistic quality, creativity, and effective use of English on stage.

Having supported the program since its inception, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri commended the Faculty of English Language's lecturers and students for their dedication and creativity. He emphasized that each year's performances have consistently demonstrated high quality, careful preparation, and increasing professionalism, helping establish the faculty's distinctive identity through the integration of academics and the performing arts.

He also expressed his hope that the program would continue to grow and present even more outstanding productions in the years to come.

"The Living Page 2026" – When Books Come to Life

With the theme "The Living Page 2026 – When Books Come to Life," this year's program created a unique artistic experience where classic literary masterpieces were vividly brought to life through theater, music, and emotional storytelling.

More than just an English-language extracurricular activity, the event served as a practical demonstration of students' English proficiency, creativity, and communication skills. This year's showcase featured three outstanding stage productions:

• Pride and Prejudice transported the audience to 19th-century England, following Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy as they overcame prejudice and personal pride to discover genuine love.
• The Last Leaf touched audiences with its moving story of hope, sacrifice, and resilience, in which a single leaf became a powerful symbol of courage and determination.
• Frankenstein offered a dramatic and thought-provoking performance that explored humanity's responsibility for its own creations, as well as the universal longing for understanding and acceptance.

Students delivered remarkable performances, convincingly portraying iconic literary characters from these classic works.

Careful Preparation and Outstanding Performances

To present performances of such high quality, students devoted considerable time and effort under the guidance of the Faculty of English Language. From studying scripts and analyzing characters to practicing English pronunciation, staging the productions, and designing lighting and sound, every aspect was carefully planned and executed.

Guests and audience members praised the students for their natural, confident, and expressive use of English. Their pronunciation, intonation, and delivery demonstrated not only linguistic accuracy but also emotional depth and stage presence. Beyond simply speaking English correctly, they successfully conveyed the psychological complexity of their characters and the deeper messages of the literary works.

Special attention was also given to costumes and makeup, which authentically recreated the settings and historical periods of each story. The students' increasingly polished acting skills, strong stage presence, and seamless teamwork reflected both their dedication and professionalism.
